The Kyoto Protocol

Kyoto protocol was signed during the 11th day of December 1997 through the initiative of the United Nations Organization (UNO). However, it came into power from December 16, 2005. The Kyoto protocol aspires to engage in global warming by situating target levels for countries to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses worldwide. The Kyoto protocol is a pact by which the ratifying nations have arranged to reduce their greenhouse gases emissions. Under the said protocol, the initial target is reducing emission of greenhouse gas to 5.2 per cent underneath the 1990 base level. There are about 172 countries who have signed the Kyoto Protocol. Australia has also lately ratified the protocol. Only these nations and their companies are the ones allowed in engaging the carbon trading.
